Jonathan & Kait Mangano: ADOPTING!
I have had the privilege of getting to share life with Jonathan and Kait for a long time. We went to Lincoln Christian University together, Kait was my neighbor in our dorm, we were in a life group together, and Kait and I worked together for a few years at Plainfield Christian Church. During that time, I have had the rich blessing of photographing some special moments in their lives: engagement photos, wedding photos, Jonathan’s family photos…and now, their adoption announcement. This session was a true joy to be asked to photograph and we had the most beautiful spring weather. I am thankful for these two, for their friendship, and their hearts for the Kingdom. I am excited for them as they embark on the adventure of parenthood together and can’t wait to meet their future children.
A little while ago, Kait and Jonathan asked me if I could take some photos of them and their corgi, Shuffles, for something special. These photos would be used in their prospective adoption family profile to show to expectant moms as well as on their blog that documents their adoption journey. If you get a chance, check out www.lifewithmangos.com to follow their journey.
Jonathan and Kait will be celebrating their 5th year of marriage this fall and they define love as a verb. “It’s a choice we make to serve, sacrifice for, and celebrate another person.” Their perfect date night is spent going out to eat really good food...most likely Italian…and coming back home to watch The Office on the couch with Shuffles. One of the biggest challenges they have faced is when Shuffles “is a diva.” If Kait and Jonathan could offer any words of advice to other couples, it would be “be vulnerable with yourself and your partner. Be able to hold one another’s emotions. And always be working to better improve your communication.” Their first look on their wedding day is one of their favorite memories in their relationship as well as their annual family vacations spent unplugging and exploring while adding lots of new memories together.
